What to expect on the day of a Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment
When you arrive on the day of your Laser Skin Resurfacing, our primary focus will be your comfort. Our Aesthetic team will be on hand to answer any questions and assist in the process. Before the treatment, we will completely clean your skin with a cleanser to remove any lotions, makeup, or other substances found on the skin. This ensures that the LSR treatment can achieve the best results possible.
The first step is to globally treat the skin you want to be addressed, which is commonly located around the face, neck, or chest. The second step addresses more specific skin concerns and will vary from patient to patient (ex. spider veins, redness, acne, or dark spots of hyperpigmentation).
We start the process by using the device that emits the laser pulses and directs them at the targeted skin area. The laser then penetrates the external layer of the skin while simultaneously heating the underlying skin. This promotes deep healing, thus resulting in rapid collagen growth.
Depending on the size of the affected area, treatments of Laser Skin Resurfacing will typically take between 15 and 40 minutes.

After your treatments, you may experience redness, warmth, swelling, or tightness in the treated area, which typically fades within a few hours after treatment. The skin may often have a pinkish tone for five to seven days. You will be able to return to your normal schedule immediately after you receive your treatment, but you will need to try and stay out of the sun as best as possible. If you do plan on being exposed to UV rays in any form, we strongly recommend using a good SPF to prevent any unfavorable results.
Many people notice positive changes in the appearance of their skin within a few days but keep in mind that you may require multiple sessions before you see your final results. Most laser-treated regions will be fully healed six to nine days after the laser treatment.
